MANILA - The Singapore national football team's Asean Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup hopes lie in the balance.

After a 0-0 draw against the Philippines and a 0-1 loss to Thailand, the Lions are third in Group A with one point, ahead of Indonesia on goal difference.

Defending champions Thailand top the four-nation table on six points after two wins while hosts the Philippines are second on two points after two draws.

Singapore will meet Indonesia on Friday (Nov 25) for the crucial showdown while the Thais and Filipinos clash in the other encounter.

Here's what needs to happen if the Lions are to make the semi-finals:

1. Singapore need to draw against Indonesia if Thailand beat the Philippines by two goals or more. Or...

2. Singapore need to beat Indonesia if Thailand beat the Philippines by one goal or draw.

If the Philippines beat Thailand, Singapore - regardless of the result against Indonesia - will be out.

Lots will be drawn by the organising committee if Thailand beat the Philippines 1-0 and Singapore draw 2-2 with Indonesia.
