SINGAPORE - Football fans can catch all 51 matches of the 2016 European Championship with pay TV operator StarHub for an early bird price of $78 (with GST).

A press statement sent on Tuesday stated that the discount is valid from May 16 to 27, after which customers will have to pay the regular price of $88 (with GST).

Fans have to pay $88 (with GST) to catch the quadrennial football competition with Singtel, who announced their subscription prices last month. However, this includes the June 3-26 Copa America as part of the deal.

This year's June 10-July 10 Euros event will be held in France and will feature stars such as Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo, Sweden's Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Gareth Bale of Wales.

Prices have gone up overall. Four years ago, viewers had to pay $69.55 to catch the previous edition.

The number of games have increased to 51 (36 group matches, eight last-16 ties, four quarter-finals, two semi-finals and the final) from 31 in Euro 2012 with the expansion from a 16- to a 24-team tournament.

Kick-off times are scheduled for 9pm, midnight and 3am Singapore time.

New and existing StarHub customers can catch the month-long tournament for free if they take up its Sports Group package for 24 months at $21.40 (with GST) per month.

A total of three matches (the opening match, one semi-final and the final) will be available to all StarHub TV customers via a free preview of Eleven Euro HD. An HD set-top box is required to view the channel.

The free preview will also be available to all Singapore viewers through StarHub Go, allowing anyone to watch the three matches on smart devices using the StarHub Go app.
