SINGAPORE - The Lions are tied at 1-1 with Thailand in their Asean Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup Group B opener at half-time.

With an estimated 35,000 fans at the National Stadium creating a fantastic atmosphere, it was the Thais who drew first blood when right midfielder Mongkol Tossakrai swooped in a the far post to slam home a cross from the left in the ninth minute.

But Singapore equalised with a brilliant Khairul Amri header in the 19th minute after a superb cross from the left from full-back Shaiful Esah.
