LONDON - Southampton and England striker Rickie Lambert is set for a medical at Liverpool on Saturday after a fee of 4 million pounds (S$8.4 million) plus add-ons was agreed.

The Liverpool-born centre-forward will sign a two-year deal at the club where he spent five years as a youth player.

Lambert scored 14 goals in 39 games this season, and has 117 in 235 appearances since joining Southampton from Bristol Rovers in 2009.

The striker, who is part of England's World Cup squad, could feature in Friday night's friendly against Peru at Wembley.

The Reds continue to be in talks with Southampton over England midfielder Adam Lallana, 26, and Croatia defender Dejan Lovren, 24.
