Football: LionsXII's poor run continues with shock 2-1 defeat by bottom side PKNS

The LionsXII lost 1-2 to PKNS FC on Tuesday evening in their Malaysia Super League (MSL) clash at the Shah Alam Stadium.

Fandi Ahmad's men took the lead on 25 minutes through Gabriel Quak's stunning goal from distance. The 23-year-old embarked on a mazy dribble before cutting in from the right and unleashing a scorcher from 30 metres.

Bottom-placed PKNS equalised seven minutes later through Arip Amiruddin, who calmly beat LionsXII goalkeeper Izwan Mahbud in a one-on-one. The scores were level at half-time, but Liberian international Patrick Wleh put the home side in front shortly after the break.

The defeat leaves the outgoing champions in eighth place on 25 points. They take on second from bottom Perak on Saturday at the Jalan Besar Stadium.
