SINGAPORE - The LionsXII clawed back from twice going behind to notch a 3-2 Malaysia Cup win over Terengganu at the Jalan Besar Stadium on Saturday evening.

The visitors raced into an early lead in the fourth minute when Terengganu danger man Paulo Rangel, who was making his return to action after a three-month suspension, found space in the box to steer a deflected shot past Izwan Mahbud.

The LionsXII equalised when Sahil Suhaimi latched onto Faris Ramli's pass in the 35th minute and placed a sweetly struck effort beyond the reach of goalkeeper Sharbinee Ramli.

However, Terengganu would go into half-time with the lead when Rangel finished off a counter-attacking move with aplomb for his second goal of the night.

Early in the second half, the LionsXII found their second equaliser via route one, when Madhu Mohana's long throw from the right flank found the head of Safuwan Baharudin and the latter's header looped into the net.

Safuwan would then double his tally on the night when he met substitute Christopher van Huizen's pinpoint delivery from the right flank with an emphatic header in the 88th minute.

The LionsXII, who now have seven points from three matches, will travel to the Darul Aman Stadium to face Kedah in their next match on October 3.
