Football: Juventus to play Singapore Selection side at Sports Hub on Aug 16

Italian football club Juventus will play a Singapore Selection side at the new National Stadium on Aug 16.

The Serie A champions have promised to bring their full squad of stars, which includes playmaker Andrea Pirlo, striker Carlos Tevez and goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon.

The Singapore Selection side will be made up of the Lions and foreign stars from the S-League.

The Singapore national team will also play a friendly against the Malaysia national team at the new 55,000 seater National Stadium at the Singapore Sports Hub on Aug 8.

Said Francesco Calvo, Juventus' commercial director: "Juventus is thrilled to be heading to Singapore, a place we have heard many great things about.

"What a wonderful occasion it will be for us to compete at such a new venue and against what we expect will be a young and exciting Singapore team."
