SINGAPORE - The scenes were surreal: Hundreds of red-shirted fans swarming a five-star hotel in downtown Singapore on a Thursday night. Fans, young and old, male and female, scrambling for a chance to take a photograph or wefie with their heroes. Supporters thronging the lobby of the hotel, raising their voice in song as they saluted their heroes.

The reason for this madness? Two words: Manchester United.
