Football: FAS announces registration for inaugural U-14 Girls' League

SINGAPORE - The Football Association of Singapore (FAS) has announced that the inaugural FAS Under-14 Girls' League is open for registration. The tournament, which will run from late October to late November, will be open to girls born between Jan 1, 2002 and Dec 31, 2004, both dates inclusive. Registration is free.

"We hope that this new Under-14 Girls' League will not only allow more girls to play and improve their skills, but hopefully also encourage more schools to participate in the schools competitions next year. The strong support we have received from Fifa's Women's Football Development Programme has enabled us to make registration free, so we certainly look forward to more teams being able to participate," said Ms Julie Teo, general manager, Grassroots and Women's Football.

No results will be recorded in the league, which is meant to encourage participation in women's football. Schools and/or teams interested to enter a team in the FAS U-14 Girls' League are invited to write in to women_football@fas.org.sg. The deadline for registrations is Sept 12.
