Budding footballers Irfan and Ikhsan Fandi Ahmad, sons of Singapore football legend Fandi Ahmad, received a six-figure sponsorship boost on Thursday afternoon.

Under the watchful eyes of their entire family, Irfan, 17, and Ikhsan, 15, inked an athlete sponsorship agreement with CIMB Group at CIMB's head office in Singapore Land Tower. The deal starts on Aug 1 and is for one year, subject to renewal in 12 months' time.

Said Mak Lye Mun, country head of CIMB Group Singapore and CEO of CIMB Bank Singapore: "We are very proud of what Irfan and Ikhsan have achieved at such a young age and we hope that this sponsorship will propel these two Singapore homegrown talents to excel on the local and regional stages, and to flourish in the international arena as well."

Irfan, 17, said: "We feel very lucky to have sponsors at such a young age, and we will continue chasing our dreams to become professional footballers in Europe one day."
