SINGAPORE - Former national striker Aleksandar Duric will be like a thrilled schoolboy again when he takes to the field at the National Stadium on Nov 11.
It will be a special day for the 47-year-old, as his maiden match at the National Stadium will be against the Liverpool and Arsenal Masters at the Battle of the Masters.
Duric, an Arsenal fan, will lead the Singapore Masters out with Fandi Ahmad, Aide Iskandar, Rafi Ali, Nazri Nasir, Steven Tan and Malek Awab against a Liverpool side consisting of Danny Murphy, David James, Luis Garcia, Bjorn Tore Kvarme, Phil Babb, Rob Jones, Fabio Aurelio, David Thompson, Jari Litmanen, Jan Kromkamp and Emile Heskey, and an Arsenal team featuring "The Invincibles" quartet of Robert Pires, Nwankwo Kanu, Lauren and Gilberto Silva, Nigel Winterburn, Ian Selley, Luis Boa Morte, Stefan Schwarz, Jimmy Carter, Anders Limpar, Mikael Silvestre and David Hillier.
The three teams will play three 40-minute round-robin matches all in one evening.
At the pre-event press conference held on Tuesday (Sept 19), he said: "The closest I got to the players was on my TV screen while watching the Premier League, so I'm happy to play up close with the people I have been watching on TV."
