Melun, France (AFP) - Bayern Munich's French international winger Kingsley Coman will go before a judge later this year accused of domestic violence in an incident involving his ex-girlfriend, sources said on Tuesday.

The 21-year-old was arrested and held by police on Monday morning in the Paris suburb of Chessy, the public prosecutor in Meaux told AFP, confirming an earlier report on French radio station Europe 1.

Coman, who in April had his loan move to Bayern from Italian Serie A champions Juventus made permanent after the German champions paid €21 million euros (S$33 million) for his signature, admitted the charge and will plead guilty when he goes before a judge after the summer recess.

The player, who started out at French Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain and has won 11 caps for France, reportedly got into an argument with his former partner over an advertising contract.

A source close to the affair said it was Coman himself who called the police to report the matter.

"When the police arrived, his ex-girlfriend said she had been hit," the source added.

According to French prosecutors, the woman had to be signed off work as a result.
