Supporting Stryking as a football adviser will be Luis Figo's main task.

Nearly a decade after retiring, Luis Figo is still capable of link-up play.

The former Portugal skipper is an official brand ambassador for Stryking Entertainment, a company that specialises in sports-fan engagement and monetisation. Besides helping to promote their Football-Stars platform and upcoming token sale event, he will also strengthen their team.

"After the end of my active career, I became personally interested in projects that revolve around the digitalisation of football," he said.

"My main task will be to support Stryking as a football adviser. With my wide network of contacts in the football industry, I can help the company to find many more partners," he added.

Football-Stars is a fantasy sports platform that allows users to pick their own teams of real players. The performance of the real footballers is evaluated after each game from professional data provider Opta, and the scores are entered into the platform.

The user with the best performing team wins.

Next to a season-long mode, Stryking also offers a challenge option where users can compete in daily challenges against one another.

Win or lose, the users will earn experience points and climb the level system.

The platform was launched in 2016 and has since gained an official Bundesliga licence and partnered German sports magazine kicker and sportdigital.tv.

Football-Stars is free and can be played on www.football-stars.com as well as via app for iOS and Android devices.
