Frenchman Philippe Mascarau flew home to Paris two days ago with his wife and son for a holiday, and also to visit his parents.

Come tonight, the 39-year-old reckons he will have more than just a family reunion to celebrate, as he believes that France will beat Croatia to win their second World Cup title in Moscow. "I am not too worried about Croatia. I don't see them as big opponents," said Mr Mascarau, a programme manager for a global insurance company who is married to a Singaporean and has been based here for five years. "They have played quite a lot of football and they will be very tired."
