Expect a dose of Portuguese starpower when the Tiger Street Football competition kicks off at the Singapore Sports Hub's Riverside Walk on Saturday.
Former international stalwarts such as midfielders Deco and Maniche, striker Nuno Gomes, defender Paulo Ferreira and goalkeeper Vitor Baia will feature in an exhibition match on the specially-designed court at the new Kallang facility. One contest winner from Singapore will also get to play in Deco's all-star lineup.
In the main tournament, eight street football sides from the likes of Singapore, Cambodia and Australia will compete for the US$40,000 (S$50,000) purse.
Entry is free, with the round-robin matches starting at 3pm on Saturday. The game featuring the ex-Portugal stars is expected to begin at 6pm. A meet-and-greet session with the players will be held at the end of the competition.
