Extraordinary. A remarkable capacity to get late winners means they have dropped only two points. They have shown incredible consistency, even when Alisson was injured and when clean sheets were elusive. Sadio Mane has been the star among the attackers, the full-backs have been terrific going forward and the demolitions of Manchester City and Everton were the stand-out displays.

Mixed. Their best has been very good, including the 8-0 hammering of Watford, Raheem Sterling has been predatory and the phenomenal Kevin de Bruyne the outstanding player in the league. But the injured Aymeric Laporte has been missed, the defence has deteriorated, City have been inconsistent and will surely lose their crown.
