SINGAPORE - Defending champions Germany crashed out of the World Cup after a shock 2-0 defeat to South Korea, with Sweden emerging unlikely winners of Group F following a 3-0 thumping of Mexico, who also go through to the last 16.
In Group E, Brazil advanced to the knockout stages as Paulinho and Thiago Silva scored the goals in a 2-0 win over Serbia.
The Brazilians finished top of the group ahead of Switzerland, who qualify in second place after a 2-2 draw with Costa Rica.
