Albirex Niigata's captain Yosuke Nozawa showing off the S-League trophy as his team, including their top league scorer with 13 goals, Atsushi Kawata (behind), were welcomed by cheerleaders at the SJ50 Matsuri yesterday. At the two-day event to mark 50 years of diplomatic relations between Singapore and Japan at Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza, Albirex presented a donation cheque of $19,254 to Yuhua Community Sports Club. Japanese outfit Albirex are the first club here to achieve a quadruple of domestic titles in a season, winning the League Cup, Singapore Cup, Community Shield and the S-League.
