Football: Retired Man U star Paul Scholes stuns with trademark long-range goal in over-35s league

Former Manchester United star Paul Scholes may have retired from professional football, but the former England midfielder is still making headlines with his trademark long-range goals.

The 39-year-old, who called it quits at the end of last season after more than 20 seasons with the Red Devils, was playing in a small-sided match between Chadderton Park Legends and Chaddy Park Veterans.

The match was played at Chadderton Park, close to where Scholes was born and bred, in Oldham.

Winning the ball in his own half, Scholes, playing for the Legends, launched a stunning long-shot that flew into the net. Perhaps David Moyes should coax him out of retirement, again. United could use the goals.
