ATHENS (AFP) - French-born Algerian midfielder Mehdi Abeid has been loaned for one year to Panathinaikos by Newcastle United, the Greek Super League club announced Tuesday.
The 21-year-old was loaned to Scottish side St. Johnstone last season by Newcastle, played just 12 matches.
He played for French national youth teams from 2007-2010 and has been a member of the Algerian Under 23 squad since 2011.
