The LionsXII wasted great chances to bury Terengganu but had to make do with a 0-0 draw at Jalan Besar Stadium in the Malaysian Super League (MSL) on Saturday.

Forward Shahfiq Ghani had the best chance of the lot when faced with only goalkeeper Sharbinee Allawee to beat in the 87th minute. However, he volleyed Faris Ramli's inch-perfect cross wide, to the agony of the home crowd.

Terengganu also had their chances, with their best coming in the 89th minute when Zairo Anuar's curling 25m free-kick had to be tipped over the bar by goalkeeper Izwan Mahbud.

LionsXII coach Fandi Ahmad said: "We want to say sorry to the fans. Our finishing was disappointing and the final ball wasn't there."
