Football: LionsXII lose 1-3 to Sarawak, fall to 9th in Malaysian Super League

THE LionsXII fell to a 1-3 defeat against Sarawak on Saturday evening. It was the second straight defeat for Fandi Ahmad's men, following their 2-1 reverse against Kelantan last Saturday.

A brace from S. Chanturu and a goal from Rashid Aya capped a monumental victory for newly-promoted Sarawak over the defending Malaysian Super League (MSL) champions at the Sarawak Stadium.

Nazrul Nazari scored the LionsXII's only goal with a header from the edge of the penalty area, but it was brief respite for the away side who could not deal with Sarawak's pacy attackers.

The LionsXII are ninth in the MSL after seven games, equal on points with ATM, and five points behind leaders Terengganu, who have a game in hand.
