Football: Home to meet Churchill Brothers, New Radiant, Persipura Jayapura in AFC Cup

TRIPS to India await Singapore's two AFC Cup representatives next year, after the group-stage draw was made on Tuesday.

RHB Singapore Cup winners Home United were drawn in Group E, together with Indian side Churchill Brothers, New Radiant SC from the Maldives and Indonesia's Persipura Jayapura.

But it remains to be seen whether it will be Tampines Rovers or Balestier Khalsa joining Hong Kong's Kitchee, Myanmar's Nay Pyi Taw and either India's Pune FC or East Bengal in Group H.

The group stage kicks off on Feb 25.

As Great Eastern-Yeo's S-League champions, Tampines will reach the AFC Champions League group stage if they negotiate play-off ties against Hong Kong's South China and Thai side Chonburi successfully. The ties will be played Feb 2 and Feb 8.

Should they earn a spot among Asia's elite, their AFC Cup spot will be taken by Balestier, the next-highest local finisher in the S-League after Tampines and Home.
