Over 90 beneficiaries of The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund (SPMF) turned the Jalan Besar Stadium pitch into a sea of red on Friday afternoon, as part of a 80-minute-long football clinic.
The coaching session was conducted before the Great Eastern-Yeo's S-League season opener between Tampines Rovers and Home United, which doubles up as the Charity Shield match.
Organised by S-League co-title sponsor Great Eastern, coaches from the National Football Academy and ex-internationals like Malek Awab, Samad Allapitchay, Razali Saad and Syed Faruk were on hand to polish the children's football skills.
At half-time of Friday's game between Tampines and Home, Great Eastern will make a donation to the SPMF, which will go into helping children from underprivileged families.
