Football: Baihakki to give back as Chelsea FC Soccer School Singapore's ambassador

Singapore international Baihakki Khaizan was announced as Chelsea FC Soccer School Singapore's community programme ambassador on Thursday.

Through the initiative, the 29-year-old centre-back, who recently joined Malaysian Super League side Johor Darul Takzim, will work with children from under-privileged backgrounds.

The 11-month-long programme has CFCSSSG looking for four corporations to each adopt 12 children to undergo once-weekly training sessions.

"This has been an incredible year for me and I am blessed to have the support of the community," said Baihakki, whose exploits with the LionsXII this year saw him crowned the Football Association of Malaysia's Best Defender.

"Football has given me a wonderful career and life, and I hope I can do my bit to give something back and help these children."
