LONDON (AFP) - Alex Ferguson's first team sheet as Manchester United manager is to go under the hammer and could sell for between £2,000 (S$3,900) and £3,000, auctioneers said on Monday.
The hand-written team sheet from Nov 8, 1986 is to be sold on behalf of an Oxford United fan, who was given it by former player Peter Rhoades-Brown.
Oxford United won the encounter at the Manor Ground 2-0. The club were League Cup winners in 1986 but declined in spectacular fashion after relegation from the old Division One in 1988, and dropped into the part-time Conference in 2006.
They were promoted last season and this campaign begin in the fourth-tier League Two.
Ferguson and Man United went on from strength to strength, winning a string of honours including 13 Premier League titles, five FA Cups, four League Cups and the Champions League twice until his retirement in May.
The Scot's first starting XI was: 1 Chris Turner, 2 Mike Duxbury, 3 Arthur Albiston, 4 Kevin Moran, 5 Paul McGrath, 6 Graeme Hogg 7, Clayton Blackmore, 8 Remi Moses, 9 Frank Stapleton, 10 Peter Davenport, 11 Peter Barnes. Substitute was Jesper Olsen.
The team sheet will be sold at Henry Aldridge and Son in Devizes, southwest England, on June 22.
