Extreme Sailing Series back in Singapore

After a two-year hiatus, the Extreme Sailing Series returns to Singapore this week with a stellar cast of world and Olympic champions.

The event, featuring Extreme 40 catamarans that are known for their speed and lightness, will be held from Thursday to Sunday along the waters of the scenic Marina Bay skyline.

For the first time, Singapore will be fielding a team in the eight-stop competition, which is contested across three continents.

Team Aberdeen Singapore will be led by national sailors Scott Glen Sydney, 22, and Justin Wong, 27. They will be joined by three other foreign crew to make up the five-men team.

There are eight other teams in the event, which will see up to 30 races over the four days.

Sydney said: "It's going to be really fun racing in front of home fans. We hope to put on a good show for them and finish in a top-half position."
