Race 1 (1,000m)

An interesting opening event.
(1) TURBULENT was backed to win his local debut but was run out of it late. He is back on the turf and could make amends.
Stable companion (2) BOURNE SUPREMACY makes his local debut. Even if he has not threatened in four starts, he can improve.
(3) MAGNUS THE GOOD is not reliable, but can be a danger in a race of this nature.
(4) ALESIAN BEAU is holding his form and could be winning a race soon.

Race 2 (1,000m)

(1) CHATTERBOX is highly regarded and bumped into some decent fillies on her debut. She should have learnt from experience and can score.
(2) CLARA LUME’ and (6) RED BIRCH were both well beaten on debut but are capable of improvement and can bounce back. They should both be considered possible winners.
(8) YOU’RE MY ANGEL makes her debut for Kelly Mitchley, a trainer who has won a couple of juvenile races this season. So she must be respected.

Race 3 (1,000m)

A very open looking race.
(4) ICY LANCASTER may have needed his local debut and could do better on the turf this time.
(1) SPEED RACER has an abundance of pace and was not beaten far by better rivals than these last time.
Stable companion (2) FRENCH FLAME has stable jockey Craig Zackey in the irons and could like this shorter distance.
(3) MASKED VIGILANTE is hinting at a form return and will have top jockey Richard Fourie riding him.

Race 4 (1,200m)

(6) MORFELIHA fought off all her challengers for a good handicap win last time and could follow up carrying a penalty.

(5) DETAILED FORECAST showed improvement on local debut and could go one better for the in-form Alan Greeff-Fourie team.

(7) WHIRLYBIRD can also get involved with the finish.

(3) PRISCILLA MAISEY is back to her best and is clearly not out of it.

Race 5 (1,200m)

A very open race with a host of chances.

(3) COMIC RELIEF makes her local debut and would not be a surprise winner.

(10) IM THE BUZZ ran third over the same course and distance last start. Include in calculations.

(5) CHERRY OH BABY is clearly better than her last two starts and can bounce back to score.

(4) MAKE BELIEVE is clearly better than what she showed last time and could like it back on the grass.

Race 6 (2,000m)

(9) HELIOTROPE beat a lot of these rivals last time and could do it again. She has changed trainers since then.
(8) HOLLANDIA BAKKERIJ has solid recent form and should fight out the finish.

(7) ACTION AMERICA is another who can make the frame.

(6) CURTISS CONDOR seems well held by Heliotrope on that last run but could get closer this time.

Race 7 (2,400m)

The feature of the card, the Listed WSB East Cape Derby.
(1) ANOTHERDANCEFORME has scared off her Western Cape challengers and only the locals take her on. She has tasted defeat just once and that was at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. She looks the likely winner trying this longer distance for the first time.
Greeff has decent back-up for her in the form of (7) SILVAN MISTRESS, who has some good wins lately. It is hard to see anything else beating those two runners.
(6) WORLD CHOICE and (8) ROYAL MISSY have both chased home those Greeff runners before and could make up the frame.

Race 8 (1,600m)

A big-field handicap and another long list of runners who could vie for victory.
(2) JOHNNY DRAMA is badly drawn but did run well on local debut.
(4) VOLARE E MAMBO is at the top of her game and would not be a surprise winner, but she does get caught out of her ground.
(5) PRINCESS OF BAYEUX is back on the grass and can bounce back to her best.
(7) ASINANTANGA, (11) CHEERFUL CHARLIE B and (12) MELA STRENGTH can also be considered possible winners.

Race 9 (1,600m)

Another big-field handicap and anything is possible.
(1) POTENZA is not an easy ride as she can pull. But she is clearly better than her Polytrack performance may suggest, and can win a race like this.
(4) ROYAL MERMAID has drawn an awkward barrier and disappointed last time but is clearly not out of it.
(5) SUN SPECTACULAR is often competitive and has a chance.
(6) ROCKIE BLUE is capable of a decent finish and has claims.
(10) LADY LUCK and (12) LANA VIEW are in good shape and can also shine.
