It is still early days, but the way Stay The Course revved up late to make it third-time lucky at Kranji last night certainly augurs well for the winner's future.

Trainer Shane Baertschiger, for one, was already harbouring high hopes of his charge turning into a Singapore Derby prospect next year on his abundant stamina.
