Cycling: German Martin retains world time trial title, Briton Wiggins takes silver

FLORENCE (REUTERS) - German Tony Martin retained his time trial title at the cycling world championships on Wednesday.

Martin, the 2011 and 2012 champion, clocked 1 hour 05.36 seconds over 57.9 km from Montecatini Terme, according to provisional results.

Briton Bradley Wiggins was second and Swiss Fabian Cancellara finished third.
