The sixth edition of the Singapore Community Games kicked off at Keat Hong Community Club yesterday and will end on May 18.

Organised by the People's Association (PA), the multi-sport nationwide competition aims to foster stronger community bonding among residents of all ages and races and across different estates.

Featuring seven sports - basketball, table tennis, bowling, sepak takraw, badminton, football and the all-new Community Ultra Ekiden - this year's Games are expected to involve over 80 constituencies and attract more than 8,000 participants.

This year, the corporate community can for the first time raise funds for the less privileged through their participation.

To date, 17 corporate sponsors have stepped forward, with StarHub and Pokka pledging $20,000 each to Boys' Town and Care Corner respectively.
