Come on, get serious, of course it can’t happen. Don’t be silly and think he has a realistic chance. Let’s not get seduced by romance. Sorry, but there’s no way that Carlos Alcaraz wins the US Open singles title.
Except the bookmakers say he’s the prohibitive favourite. Have they been drinking? Yet ask some experts and they’re saying he’s first on their list. I mean, how good is he? Or how crazy are we? Or how lousy is men’s tennis that with Jannik Sinner out with a complaining knee, an unready Alcaraz is reflexively the name we hold onto?
