President Halimah Yacob taking part in a cheer with Team Singapore swimmers at the OCBC Aquatic Centre yesterday. President Halimah paid a visit to Team Singapore athletes from swimming - including Olympic champion Joseph Schooling - boccia, pencak silat, water polo and sailing, who are preparing for the Aug 18-Sept 2 Asian Games. She also broke her fast with various athletes and officials who will be travelling to the quadrennial Games in Indonesia. Before taking her leave, President Halimah autographed a plaque and encouraged the athletes in their attempt to bring sporting glory for the Republic in Indonesia. She said: "I will be cheering for you, and the whole of Singapore will be cheering for you as well." Singapore will send its biggest Asiad contingent to the Games after 246 athletes from 22 sports made the first cut last week. At the 2014 Asiad in Incheon, South Korea, Singapore's 223 athletes won five golds, six silvers and 14 bronzes.
