Bowling: Singapore's Cherie Tan second in World Bowling Women's Championships

Singapore bowler Cherie Tan settled for silver in the singles final of the World Bowling Women's Championships as she lost to South Korea's Jeon Eun Hee on Wednesday.

Tan posted 189 pinfalls, falling short of Jeon's 279 pinfalls that saw the South Korean take the gold medal.

Tan also had no luck in the trios final later. She, Shayna Ng and New Hui Fen fell 594-695 to the Korean trio of Son Hye Rin, Kim Jin Sun and Baek Seung Jal.

The tournament is in Abu Dhabi.
