Singapore bowler Javier Tan finished second in the men's Masters stepladder finals on Sunday at the Commonwealth Tenpin Bowling Championships in Auckland.
The 17-year-old lost to Sam Cooley in the final, posting 181 pinfalls to the Australian's 249. The Singaporean had earlier narrowly beaten Chris Oates of England in the first match of the stepladder finals, winning 177-169.
Singapore's team of four bowlers - Bernice Lim, 21, Geraldine Ng, 27, Muhammad Jaris Goh, 18 and Javier - took home three golds and two silvers, finishing top of the medal standings.
The team had also set a new tournament record of 5,273 pinfalls during the team event.
