SALT LAKE CITY (Utah) • Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr said that he was disgusted with his team following the National Basketball Association (NBA) champions' worst defeat of the season - 99-129 at the Utah Jazz on Tuesday.
Ricky Rubio scored 23 points and dished out 11 assists, while Joe Ingles and Donovan Mitchell each chipped in 20 points to help Utah (22-28) snap a five-game losing streak to Golden State (40-11).
Derrick Favors added 18 points and 10 rebounds for the hosts.
"I saw one team get their (tail) kicked," Kerr said.
"Our hearts weren't in it. At this level, if your heart's not in it, I don't care how much talent you have. You're going to lose.
"It happens. It's the NBA. It's a long season.
"Our guys will tell you, that was a pathetic effort out there. That was disgusting basketball."
Klay Thompson led Kerr's side with 27 points, Kevin Durant added 17 while Stephen Curry and JaVale McGee chipped in 14 apiece.
They allowed the Jazz to shoot 14 of 28 from three-point range and scale a season-high 58.2 per cent from the field - the highest the Warriors have allowed under Kerr.
"The issue tonight was just defence," Curry said.
"I asked Draymond (Green) on the bench in the fourth quarter if he could remember that bad of a performance we've had in recent memory. Really can't.
"We can't just show up, especially on the road, and expect to win. That's kind of cheating the game."
In Detroit, Cleveland forward Kevin Love can expect an extended spell on the sidelines after he suffered a broken bone in his left hand. A statement said that he would be evaluated further yesterday (today, Singapore time) before updating his status.
The Cavaliers (29-19) lost the road game 114-125 to extend their recent struggles, with only five wins in their 13 games last month.
Their hosts Pistons (23-26) got ready to welcome new acquisition Blake Griffin by taking advantage of Love's absence and snapping an eight-game losing skid. They acquired the five-time All-Star in a multi-player trade earlier on Tuesday.
