Basketball: Singapore Slingers go down to ABL title rivals Hi-Tech Bangkok City

SINGAPORE - The Singapore Slingers' 10-match unbeaten run in the Asean Basketball League came to an end last night, as title rivals Hi-Tech Bangkok City brought the league leaders to their knees with an 83-75 win at the OCBC Arena.

The Republic's only professional basketball team put up a valiant effort, but a 10-point deficit at half-time proved too big a hurdle to overcome.

Hi-Tech's Christian Charles was the match's top performer with 26 points and 21 rebounds, while the Slingers' Wong Wei Long managed 22 points as his team's top scorer.

The Slingers remain top of the six-team league with a win-loss ratio of 13-3. They next play fifth-placed Mono Vampire away next Wednesday.
