SINGAPORE - Singapore will always be a special place for women's world No. 1 shuttler Tai Tzu-ying, and it's not just because she loves the delicious Hainanese chicken rice here.

"I would consider Singapore the place where my career took off," the 24-year-old Taiwanese told The Straits Times ahead of this week's Singapore Badminton Open.
