SINGAPORE - He was inundated with interview requests after his Thailand Masters men's singles final win over China great Lin Dan on Sunday (Jan 13) sent seismic shock waves around the world of badminton.

Then, 21-year-old Singapore shuttler Loh Kean Yew got on his mobile phone, and typed a 292-word-long WhatsApp text message. But it was not for the media, nor was it for his family, friends or fans.
