Thailand's Boonsak Ponsana booked a berth in the Li-Ning Singapore Open men's singles final when he beat Japan's Takuma Ueda 21-8, 21-15 on Saturday at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
The world No. 4 will meet Indonesia's Tommy Sugiarto in the final on Sunday for a shot at a third Singapore Open title. This is the fifth time Ponsana - the defending champion - has made the final of the local event since the 2007 edition.
Sugiarto beat Vietnam's Nguyen Tien Minh 20-22, 21-19, 21-15 in the other men's semi-final.
The women's singles semi-final will be an all-China duel between world No. 1 Li Xuerui and No. 5 Wang Yihan.
Li, the reigning Olympic champion, took out qualifier Sun Yu 21-13, 21-11 while Wang beat Indonesian Lindaweni Fanetri 20-22, 21-17, 21-18.
