THE Singapore Sports School (SSP) team were crowned overall champions of the 2014 SPH Schools Relay at Choa Chu Kang Stadium on Sunday evening.

Amassing a total of 100 points over the two-day event, the SSP did just enough to see off Raffles Institution, their nearest rivals, who had 92 points.

The SSP's 4x100m B boys' relay team nearly broke a three-year-old competition record in their event.

They finished in 43.57sec, which was just 0.17sec shy of the record set by Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) in 2010.
