SINGAPORE - As part of its Kids' Development (KD) programme, the Singapore Athletics (SA) will host its inaugural Under-13 Championships on Saturday (July 1) at the Toa Payoh Stadium.

A total of 760 young athletes, including 50 from Malaysia, will compete in three age divisions - U-10, U-11, and U-12.

The teams with the highest cumulative points in each division will win the age division's challenge trophies.

Stemming from the SA's Long Term Athlete Development plan, the KD programme aims to promote participation among children sports events and offer healthy competitive opportunities aimed at promoting personal progress.

Apart from injecting regular sporting activity, the event also provides an opportunity for talent spotting.
