SINGAPORE - Singapore para-bowlers Mohamad Ismail Hussain retained his mixed singles TPB3 gold at the Asean Para Games (APG) on Friday.

The gold is Singapore's second of the day, after compatriot Mohamad Rausyan won in the TPB4 category.

Ismail had 1,137 pinfalls across six games to come in first at the Temasek Club. Malaysia's Zainul Akmal Siran (1,100 pinfalls) and Ku Izham Ku Harun (1.056) came in second and third respectively.

Despite the absence of bowling competition in the last APG in Naypyidaw, Myanmar, Ismail - who won two golds in the 2011 edition in Solo, Indonesia - maintained his supremacy in his category.

He said: "To win today, it's a boost for me. But what was sweeter was the fact that it was a back-to-back gold for me since my last Games outing."
