A group of individuals who call themselves "Friends of Farrer Park" have set up an online petition urging authorities to preserve the sporting heritage of the area.

The Straits Times had reported last month that the 9ha area, where a large field, boxing gym, swimming complex and tennis courts sit, will be returned to the Government by mid-2020 and is slated for residential use.
