SINGAPORE - Team Singapore star Feng Tianwei and the rest of the table tennis team, hurdler Dipna Lim-Prasad and basketballer Wu Qing De celebrated Mother's Day at Nee Soon South Constituency on Sunday morning in conjunction with the constituency's monthly community sporting event - Active Day.
Active Day is a monthly event aimed at encouraging residents to maintain a healthy lifestyle and provides them with a chance to bond with the family.
The athletes went around the constituency giving out flowers to mothers and interacted with the residents, many of whom eagerly took photos with them. The residents were also treated to other sporting activities, such as mass work-outs, rope skipping and even mini soccer try-outs.
Grassroots adviser, Lee Bee Wah, a Member of Parliament for Nee Soon GRC, said: "We are thrilled to have the athletes from Team Singapore joining us in this Meet and Greet session as not many of us will have a chance to interact with them at such close proximity. We hope to show our fullest support and cheer them on for the upcoming SEA Games."
