She did not have KitKats to give to volunteers taking a break but Minister for Culture, Community and Youth Grace Fu had a basket full of ice cream to share at Marina Bay Sands. She visited volunteers yesterday - which was also International Volunteer Day - at the Games Village, spending time with them and thanking them for dedicating time and effort to the Asean Para Games. About 4,300 volunteers - affectionately called Team Nila - have stepped forward to help out at the Games. Said Singapore APG Organising Committee's chief of client services Rostam Umar: "Volunteers play an important role in building a more caring and kinder society and a better home in Singapore."
