Year of the Monkey coins on sale at Singapore Mint's annual Lunar Fair in January

SINGAPORE - Coins to celebrate the Year of the Monkey will be on sale at the Singapore Mint's annual Lunar Fair in January.

The fair will be held at Chinatown Point, on New Bridge Road, from Jan 1 to 10.

Opening hours are from 11am to 9pm daily.

Highlights include the 2016 Singapore Lunar Monkey Almanac Coin Collection, which comes in a range of gold, silver and base-metal coins.

"In line with the monkey's witty, playful and curious disposition, this year's Lunar Fair promises to be fun with a wide range of coins, medallions, gifts and collectibles," the Singapore Mint said in a statement on Wednesday (Dec 30).

The fair will also offer lucky draws and a Spin the Wheel activity with prizes up for grabs.

Other retail roadshows will also take place at locations like AMK Hub, Century Square and Jurong Point until early February.
