After a marked improvement last year, workplace fatalities in the construction sector rose again this year.

Thirteen construction workers died as a result of workplace accidents from January to November, up from 10 during the same period last year.

But the number of less serious injuries fell during those months this year. Workplace deaths together with major and minor injuries in the sector totalled 1,648, down from 1,751 last year.
