Woman finds missing Volkswagen Jetta after putting up appeal on Facebook

SINGAPORE - A woman lost her car, only to find it 19 days later after she appealed for information on her Facebook.

The woman, who goes by the name Theadra Goh on Facebook, first posted the information on her missing car, including its licence plate number, on her Facebook page on Feb 19. The car went missing earlier this month.

In the post, she wrote that her dark blue Volkswagen Jetta had been spotted in areas like Joo Chiat, Hougang and Aljunied since Feb 5. She has 2,000 followers on Facebook.

On Monday, she wrote that she finally found the car at a hotel in Geylang at about 8am. "The good samaritan reacted fast upon noticing my car, used his car to block my car and had promptly dialled for the police."

Shin Min Daily News reported that the person who chanced upon the car is a colleague of Ms Goh's friend. Ms Goh said that the man waited patiently until the police arrived to the scene before leaving.

The police said that they received a call for assistance at 7.50am on Monday. A 46-year-old man was arrested for criminal breach of trust.
