Woman dies in car crash when car rams into tree at Hillview Avenue

A 23-year-old woman died after the car she was in rammed into a tree early on Wednesday morning. She was the front passenger in the vehicle.

Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene. Three other people in the car, including 24-year-old male driver, survived the crash which left the car in a mangled heap.

The driver was trapped in his seat and freed by the Singapore Civil Defence Force. He suffered a fractured leg and is suspected to have spinal injuries in the incident at Hillview Avenue at 12.20am. He is believed to have lost control of the car.

All three were sent to the National University Hospital. The police said they received a call at 12.18am informing them of the accident.
